Avocados are hands down one of my favorite snacks and a great addition to just about anything! When I am getting ready in the morning, I will crack eggs into my halved avocado and toss them in the oven. In 20 minutes, I have a vitamin packed breakfast that is great to spread on bread or simply to enjoy with a spoon!
One big tip I have is to scoop out about 1-1.5 tablespoons of avocado (wide not deep) to create enough room for your egg. Otherwise it will overflow!
As most of you know by now, I have a new obsession with putting shredded brussels sprouts in almost everything i cook lately, including this delicious egg bake! Perfect for the lazy Sunday, this brussels sprout egg bake is an easy healthy option to feed a large crew.
Perfectly pairs with mimosas and Bloody Mary’s! 😉
Last night I decided to head back to the suburbs for a quiet night away from the sirens and taxi horns and I’m so glad I did! I feel like since starting my new job and moving downtown I just haven’t taken a second to just relax and actually truly cook.
First off I must say, Standard Market might just be one of my favorite grocery stores. It’s like walking into a farmers market every time! All of the produce is nothing less than perfect and with it being a season for figs, I was able to get the most beautiful fresh figs.
Ramen has come a very long way. From being shoved in the desks of every college dorm room to now being slurped in all of the foodiest cities, this Japanese comfort food is one trend that might just stay a while!
My love for carrot cake goes way back! On my first birthday, my mom had called up my dad to grab a cake for me on his way home from the office. Out of all the chocolate, sprinkles, and ice cream cakes, my dad decided to go with carrot cake . Lets just say my mom was rather confused by his choice, but little did she know I would have a carrot cake for my birthday every birthday since!
I thought I would share my favorite carrot cake recipe with you for this Easter holiday! Read more
Located in the Marquette Neighborhood of Madison, Wisconsin, Lazy Janes Café is a must stop for all scone lovers. Their fresh scones are the envy of every other bakery in Madison. Embracing the impact of Madison’s hippie culture, this adorable café makes its home in a corky colorful house. Mismatched mirrors line the stairway and a rolling pin and meat tenderizer replace the door handles.
If you are patient enough to mingle in line on the weekend, you will never be let down by the friendly waitstaff and one of a kind menu options. From a full egg breakfast to a berry scone and cappuccino, Lazy Jane’s menu has a little something for everyone. The vegetarians and vegans even go crazy for this spot! Read more
