I must say, out of all of the places I’ve been to, the Twin Cities have really led the restaurant movement in farm to table cuisine. It seems that majority of restaurants I have visited are very aware and proactive on where their ingredients come from and the best way to support the local community. Located in North loop neighborhood of Minneapolis, the Bacherlor Farmer is hard to miss past 5:00pm because of the line of guests out the door. The contrast of the historic brick and timber building against the colorful trendy décor, speaks a very similar language as the menu. The restaurant’s menu changes daily and focuses on the roots of Minnesota and Nordic cuisine, all while experimenting with new fresh flavor arrangements. The Bachelor Farmer, equipped with a rooftop garden overlooking the Minneapolis skyline, also practices whole-animal butchery and the use of traditional techniques to preserve spring and summer produce.
