Summit Brewery has a special place in my heart and most likely the heart of most Minnesotans. Named after the famous Summit Avenue in Saint Paul, MN, Summit Brewery continues to stay rich in its hometown roots. If you’re one to visit a brewery every place you travel, I’d mark off Summit Brewery as a must for Minnesota!

In 1986, Summit founder Mark Stutrud was determined to rediscover the traditional brewing methods behind the great handcrafted beers that were once enjoyed throughout the Midwest. I must say, out of all of the places I’ve been to, the Twin Cities have really led the restaurant movement in farm to table cuisine. It seems that majority of restaurants I have visited are very aware and proactive on where their ingredients come from and the best way to support the local community.
