Flipside offers a modern diner-type experience in the 12 South area of Nashville, TN. Serving up about 21 unique chicken dishes alongside with tator tots, milkshakes, extravagant bloody mary’s, and beers. This spot has a little bit of everything for everyone.
If I could describe my sister in terms of a restaurant, it would be Flipside. Within the last few years, my sister has adventured into the world of vintage fashion and design. The interior of the restaurant is designed like a 1950’s diner with the classic red and Tiffany blue color scheme. The vintage style is rounded out through the bright red Big Chill refrigerators and record players. One of my favorite little touches was that the flat screen TV’s over the bar were assembled to look as if it is a classic 1950 TV with antennas.
Each dish on the menu includes a chicken breast pounded thin, which you can have topped or made into a sandwich. Especially if I am going out with a large group of people, I know that Flipside is a smart call because their menu has a combination flavors for everyone. I highly recommend starting off the table with the Tator Tot Nachos. (Pictured above). The perfect sharing food, these nachos make you want every plate of nachos to be made with tator tots. At our latest trip to Flipside, our table ordered the Cedar Lane (tomato, mozzarella, field greens, and balsamic vinaigrette) and Scooter (tots, cheese dip, avocado, jalapeños, tomatoes, drizzled with wing sauce.) Both delicious and pictured above!
The drink menu highlights a range of local breweries including Yazoo, Black Abbey, Little Harpeth, Blackstone and TN Brew Works. On Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 11am-3pm, Flipside also offers 2 for 1 Bloody Mary’s, Mimosa’s, Bellini’s, and Sangria’s for $10.00. The Bloody pictured below is called The Big Fix. It’s a 22oz frosty mug with a celery salt rim, Tito’s Vodka, Climate juice, pickle juice, Worcestershire, Tabasco, pickle, bacon, cucumber, celery, olive, pepperoni, tots, Jack’s Best Chicken, and Snowcrab Claw! It was unbelievable… even being from the Midwest, the Bloody Mary capital, I without a doubt approve!
Whether you want a brunch meal or a late-night cocktail, the Flipside I always recommend Flipside as a “must do” when visiting Nashville!
