My first time walking into Pinewood Social I thought I had found the greatest hidden gem of all time tucked right off the beaten path of downtown Nashville. Little did I realize that all the Nashville locals knew of the spot! I should have known; this place was way to epic to be a secret!
Owned by brothers Benjamin and Max Goldberg, Pinewood Social was created to offer Nashville a go-to social gathering place. Pinewood Social accommodates their guest’s daily routines by brewing up one of the best cups of coffees to start the day, a comfortable place to meet for a casual lunch with a co-worker, and Pinewood Social even converts to be a happy hour spot to sip on a delicious cocktail after a long work week.
Pinewood Social has a little something for everyone. Not necessarily catered to specifically locals or tourists, this spot is merely a place to meet friends and play! Yes, literally play! Pinewood Social has six reclaimed wood lanes from an old Bowl O’ Rama in Indiana. (It might just be the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.) When the weather is nice, the outdoor patio also offers bocce ball and features two dipping pools for a much needed cool down in the Nashville heat.
Outside of all adorable vintage décor and amazing amenities, Pinewood social cooks up some damn good food! They provide a breakfast, lunch, midday, dinner, dessert, and drink menu. Also, on Saturday and Sunday they offer a mouthwatering brunch menu! This last time I visited my favorite Nashville stop, I indulged in their lunch menu! My friends and I started with the Fried Broccoli (with lemon zest, sea salt, and almond garlic dipping sauce). I crave this Fried Broccoli appetizer probably more than is healthy. These little bites melt in your mouth and before you know it, you’re stuffing your face!
My table choose the Short Rib Grilled Cheese ($12), which might just have been one of our favorites! This grilled cheese included cheddar, smoked gouda, pickled mushrooms, arugula on sourdough bread. My sister chose to go with the Chicken Torta ($13). This included crispy chicken, chipotle mayo, pepper jack, picked red onion, and smoked avocado. The spiciness of the sauce, crispness of the chicken, and cloud like bread all made for a highly recommended delicious bite. I decided to go with a huge Kale César Salad with the addition of salmon. The creaminess of the César dressing paired perfectly with the fresh salmon. I would nightly recommend trying out the Kale César if you are looking for something a little lighter!
Pinewood Social has a complete bar program, covering everything from classic cocktails to easily shareable pitchers of beer. One of my favorite cocktails is their Pious Aspirations (Prairie vodka, clear creek cranberry, lime, hibiscus and clove syrup.) The picture shows off one of their mocktails! The fabulously refreshing bubbly drink with lemon, orange, blackberry, cinnamon, and soda Water.
This Nashville-based hospitality company is responsible for helping to shape the city’s dining landscape by continuously introducing innovative, one-of-a-kind concepts. Let me tell you, every property I have been to is unique in their own way and are truly fabulously well done restaurants!
